Laguna Capri
Laguna Capri with its crystalline water and sandy beaches offers an excellent half day trekking experience.
Walk through Patagonian forest with breathtaking views of streams, lakes, and the iconic Cerro Chalten (Fitz Roy).
Here we can have the chance to see local fauna, such as the Magellanic Giant Woodpecker and the native deer, the beloved Huemul (natural monument), among others.
Itinerario
The trek begins at the end of town, where we can begin in the morning or afternoon.
>> The trail gently ascends for 1 km (.6mi) to the Rio de Las Vueltas lookout offering a tremendous view of the river valley.
>> Continuing through the forest one is inundated with the floral aromas of the forest. We will then arrive at the Cerro Fitz Roy lookout. The grandness of the view is an opportunity to contemplate the immensity of the Patagonia landscape.
>> A short distance farther is Laguna Capri where we will take a well deserved rest on sandy beaches with a great view of Fitz Roy.
Afterwards we will return to town via the same trail.
