Loma del Pliegue Tumbado
This Trekking is an increasingly crowded itinerary, its location is outside the main mountain range, which allows us to have a spectacular 360º panoramic view.
Cerro Torre and Chaltén, the extensive adjacent valleys, the forest range (“Cordón del Bosque”), the Condor wall, the immense Patagonian steppe, Lake Viedma and several hills than emerge from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field (“Campo de Hielo Patagónico Sur”) are going to be our wonderful view.
Itinerary
We begin our tour in National Parks, taking the trail towards Laguna Toro.
>> In the forest we will gradually gain height, and after 1 hour we will cross a plain, “Pampa de las Carretas”, we will enjoy a brief rest with fabulous views surrounded by the abundant native flora.
>> We enter a lush forest of centuries-old Nothofagus. We will continue ascending through varied high mountain, rocky and steep terrain. We will be able to appreciate a number of marine fossils, vestiges of the passage of the sea millions of years ago, before the appearance of the Andes mountain range.
>>Upon arriving at the viewpoint at 1,500 meters above sea level, we inevitably glimpse the fabulous 360º high view, where we appreciate all the beauty that surrounds us, reflected in gigantic glaciers, imposing granite masses of the Torre and Chaltén Massifs, the snow-capped peaks of continental ice and the great and extensive valley of the Fitz Roy River.
>>After enjoyment, rest and lunch, we return to El Chaltén, retaining that wonderful view and wild experience in Patagonia.
